Means by Peru is a story of family and love for a country

I have left my country during the 90’s to improve my education in Paris. After 2 years out of Peru my father was kidnapped  so my family  was obliged to leave the country all though I decided to get back but a terrorist attack to the TV channel I used  to work arrived  so I left Peru and didn’t come back for 12 years.  All this time a chronic nostalgia full my life   

Life brought me back to Peru on 2006, the guerrilla time was leaving memories. People believe in future, have hope and  Peruvians’ joy    was back …  so   I felt in love again with this land, its  people, its smells, the colors, the cooking  and  Peru ‘s so vary and incredible landscapes

I reencounter textile/ knitting   , and felt inspired on traditions of making from Peru, I began to dream with traditional techniques with contemporary design,

And proud of these traditions I wanted to talk a little of what my country has to offers, how much its people have to give and share.

That’s the way Means by Peru was born and is trying to source some of the world’s most refined fibers and a millenary knowhow for you.  

We are a Sourcing textile agency promoting Peruvian high quality fibers (pima cotton and baby alpaca) and textile tradition besides social responsibility programs.

But above all we have developed an unique relationship with  artisans, based on  mutual respect and fair dealings .We strongly believe in economic opportunities for women artisans, mothers and  knitters.

Skilled hand knitters can earn an income as they travel on a bus, sell in the marketplaces, or take care of their children at home. As such, hand knitting helps men and women to remain in their native villages, open doors to a better life, improve education and health.

Who we are?

We are a small sourcing agency with offices in Lima, Paris and Miami. Our office  in Peru get things done quickly and efficiently using in-house resources and a wide network of technical and industry experts that we access if needed.  This keeps our overhead low and our fees very competitive.

 Peru has many factories dedicated to textile, offering from cotton products (woven or knitted) to alpaca or vicuña products, just to mention the most important fibers. But we work only with workshops and factories already certified or being certified with international Fair trade Code and quality standards.

We perform background check of Peruvian workshops /factories, so you know who you are dealing with and minimize the risks.

We asses factories and handcrafts and select those who meet customer’s expectations and standards.

Work performed in PERU on sourcing missions is done on a fee basis; MEANS is strictly a service provider: Our purpose is to assist you during the whole production process, from the pricing, development, up to delivery of production.

• Supplier Research, based on your product, quantity and quality expectations, we find the right supplier for each of our clients.
• Costing, depending on your product specifications, we negotiate with the potential suppliers the best price for your product.
• Development, an effective follow up in every step during this process will lead you to a successful production.
• We assure that every step is completed correctly and according to your time schedule.
• Production, a personalized follow up in the supplier’s facilities during the work in process will assure to have your production in the right time and quality manner.
• Quality Control, we guarantee that the product is according to your specifications with QC controls before delivery, in which measurements, labeling, and quality are checked in order to respect your requirements

 Our commitments

• We represent only the buyer.
• We act in the best interests of the buyer (our client).
• There are no agreements between the seller and Means by Peru
• We Perform services according to agreed-upon deadlines.
• All purchase agreements are between you (buyer) and the Peruvian suppliers.
• Buyer has full knowledge of the purchase terms and conditions.
• We are ONLY rewarded by the buyer.
• We don’t earn any commission on purchases made.
